Turbo 109 – ZZT – Vulkan Alarm

Those of us that have been watching the video below in aww should be stoked about the full 320 release of this. (and those of us that use indie bubbles
have been enjoying it for a while ;)

(Taken from Turbo direct)

"THE HEAT IS NOW

1,000,000 DEGREES…CELSIUS

ZZT is Zombie Nation and Tiga. They are not friends. This is no game. To date, they have claimed responsibility for “Lower States of Consciousness,” “The Worm,” and “ZZafrika”. Their album – PARTYS OVER EARTH – is forthcoming. You have become spoiled by your Culture of Information. This is all you get.

VULKAN ALARM! will be released September 5th on Turbo Recordings, featuring remixes by PROXY, JAN DRIVER, and PERC"

I wouldn't mind spending money to buy this one either. Direct of course.

Pretty Lights vs. Led Zeppelin

Heres a quicky for you, free from pretty lights. Apperantly there were seven Zeppelin songs that were sampled. Can you name them all?

ZZT - ZZafrica (Gesaffelstein Remix)

Gesaffelstein DJ Set @ Bindy Club - Pau

This man is seriously killing the game.

Heres rip from a radio play. The person talking reminds me of TIGA in his podcasts. (Then the end of the video played, and i felt both retarded and accomplished.)

Moby, The Crystal Method, and Shepard Fairey at the Avalon.

The Courage campaign x Dance for Equality
Show your support for Marriage Equality on Wednesday March 2, 2011.

Performances by Moby, The Crystal Method and Shepard Fairey.

$25 regular admission or $100 VIP area admission. Tickets purchased at the door will be $35

Seems like a fun party and all for a good cause. Shepard Fairey would be a blast to see, even though youtube tells us his keen eye for aeshetics might not have carried over to his DJ abilities. It seems that his sets are made up of primarily oldschool hip hop tracks and breaks. Shepard's art (like the wood print above) and track selection make it obvious he wanted to be black when he grew up. Bleh, he plays what he likes and thats what its all about, so fuckit.

Uffie Butt

Uffie... She's hot sometimes..... Taken from page 335 of the latest issue of Purple mag, a surprisingly awesome fashion magazine. The gent with her is her boyfriend at the time Andre. eh. 3/5.

Brodinski Presents : European Introduction to Moombahton

Looks like Brodinski has released his Moombahton mixtape that we've been expecting.
Download linky: MEGAUPLOAD

"Moombahton is mid-tempo global bass music for the universe. It's a sonic marriage of electronic dance music (house, techno, and dubstep) with latin/island music (reggeaton, cumbia, and dancehall) that flows at a pace of about 108 beats per minute. Originally, moombahton started by Dave Nada slowing down tropical and dutch house records and re-edited them to sound like reggaeton's weird little cousin. Because the tempo nears that of reggaeton, Nada created the neologism "Moombahton" by combining the title of the track "Moombah" by DJ Chuckie & Silva Cuomo and the "ton" ending of the word "reggaeton" and applied it to the new genre. Moombahton continues to grow worldwide as producers and DJ's push the music in exciting new ways."

-Dave Nada

It's pretty intersting to have such a specific event where a whole genre of music was created. Imagine if we had an exact date when some musician in the bayou got way too high and thus: jazz music was invtented. Thats my theory to how Dave Nada came up with the idea of Moombahton...

1)Too high to spin..
3)slow down tracks...
